Letters to the Editor

Lions appreciate help in schools

The members of the Oak Harbor Lions Club want to thank the Oak Harbor School District for their support of our recent community project to screen school children for vision and hearing.

A special thanks to the school nurses, Chris Perkins, Robbin White and Rhonda Coker, and to Lion Will “Jake” Jacobs, for their successful supervision and management of the event.

We also want to thank the teachers and school volunteers for directing the children through the process and to each elementary school’s Parent-Teacher Association for providing lunch and snacks to the Lions Club volunteers. And lastly, the Oak Harbor Lions Club would like to thank the editor and staff of the Whidbey News-Times for their support of not only this event but also their ongoing support to get the word out to the community of our club’s fundraisers and service projects.
