Car show helps feed the hungry
August 2, 2011 · Updated 1:39 PM
Pioneer Automotive Services and the Whidbey Cruzers car club sponsored a car show July 23 at Pioneer Automotive Services in Oak Harbor. We had 110 cars, trucks, bikes and tractors. Participants and spectators enjoyed the vehicles, raffles, vendors and the sunshine!
We collected about 100 pounds of food (about 150 items) and $2,000 for North Whidbey Help House. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this event a success. Special thanks to the following merchants:
Pioneer Automotive Services, Top Notch Auto Body, Diamond Rentals, North End Fitness Center, Midway Florist, Les Schwab Tire Center, Frank’s Place Family Dining, Parts Plus, Burt’s Saw and Mower, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Precision Tire and Auto Center, Jack’s Auto Repair, Island Drug, Better Off Road, Hallmark, Napa Auto Parts, Fastenal, Skagit Farmers Supply, BBQ Joint, Rite Aid, Oak Harbor Knit and Sew, Ace Hardware, Island Cafe, Blanket Creations by Mary, Trolley Espresso, Starbucks, Baywatch Barber, Island Pet, Auto Zone, DH Buffet, San Remo Restaurant, El Cazador, Broadview Appliance, Esteban’s and Artie’s Restaurant.
