Postal food drive collects thousands

On Saturday, May 14, the postal employees and community volunteers collected food items as part of the nationwide “Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive: In the North Whidbey/Oak Harbor area over 7,000 pounds of food donations were collected and donated to the North Whidbey Help House. Donations collected islandwide where over 18,000.
We would like to extend a special thank you to our wonderful communities, for giving so generously and to all the wonderful volunteers, post office employees and their family members who joined together Saturday to help their community. You made this food drive very successful. The North Whidbey Help House, Gifts from the Heart and The Good Cheer Food Banks received the extra resources to continue to provide for those in need.
