If talking replaced war

I have finally seen the light! War is bad, peace is good. All those letters about war being bad have made me really think.

Like as follows:

The Revolutionary War was totally unnecessary as we could have had peace and accepted England’s terms and be like Canada. The War of 1812 was not needed as we could have apologized for burning down the Canadian capital and gave reparations to England.

The Civil War didn’t have to be as we could have let the southern states become independent. I mean what’s a few slaves between friends. Why did we get into World War I? It was all between the Europeans anyway. And World War II was totally unnecessary as we should have sat down with the Japanese after Pearl Harbor to find out why they were so angry at us. Also we really didn’t need to have Roosevelt declare war on Germany over a few thousand Jews and Christians being murdered, since Germany didn’t do any harm to us. The Korean War should have been settled between themselves as well as the Vietnam War the same way. The wars with the Muslim terrorists is totally wrong. We should have sat down with them after 9/11 and found out why they hated us so much as to kill 3,000 people in the Twin Towers.

Hallelujah! I have seen the light! The next time I see those old hippies on the Coupeville corner, I shouldn’t yell at them but consider joining them with signs like “Make Love, Not War” or “Like Peace Man” or “Legalize Pot Man.”
