Commissioner-elect Emerson is a clear and present danger to our democracy. To suggest that it is appropriate to bring county government to its knees by deluging the county with public records requests (it is actually more of a threat) in order to further her extreme right-wing ideology; to deny scientific evidence that she disagrees with; to continually assert that property rights should trump all government regulations designed to protect the rest of us from the selfish actions of individual property owners; and to constantly screech the debunked Reaganomics pabulum that all taxes are bad and deleterious exposes for all to see just how much of an uninformed and irresponsible ideologue she really is.

Her form of extremism has no place in responsible county government. She needs to be marginalized until she can either be recalled by voters (once they finally realize that they made a terrible mistake in electing her) or voted out of office in four years.
