This ‘nice guy’ should finish last

Barbara Bailey’s opponent, while seemingly a nice enough guy, seems to lack the depth that we need at this important time. He seems to be running his campaign and reasons for running as “bill title politics.” I would be surprised if he actually knew what was in the bills he references so glibly.

Careful listening and a brief trip to his website reveals that he is a government employee with no experience in the private sector. I get the clear impression when I listen to him speak and answer questions that he has no idea how to create jobs or what the real issues are. He speaks in vague “sound bites” that seem like carefully crafted clichés that have very little substance. Examples are keeping Washington jobs in Washington, put Washington back to work; etc.

The Herald had it right when they endorsed Barbara Bailey, while Mr. Riggs may be a nice guy, he does not have the depth of knowledge and background that the incumbent does. In this critical time, we need that depth of knowledge working for us in Olympia. Let’s reelect Barbara Bailey.
