It’s not all stimulus money

I always find it interesting that the News-Times won’t attach a name to their editorial opinions. It seems they can say it comes from their “editorial board,” or something of the sort, and thereby avoid taking full credit for the opinion.

It is an unreasonable leap to call funding of our national defense, and Whidbey Island NAS, and the federal stimulus spending as being one and the same. It is also a play on words to call what was normal highway funding, supported by gas tax monies and the like, as now being a part of the “stimulus spending.” If we move it around, does it become new money?

Just because a construction firm “bids” on federally funded projects, just because they are fortunate enough to be the “lowest responsive bidder,” does not mean that they always approve of how the project was funded, or the direction our country is headed.
