Your “Dino Rossi in stimulus land” editorial (News-Times, Sept. 22) is absolutely brilliant. Thanks to your editorial, Whidbey Islanders know that the federal government made it possible for us to get new ferries, Nichols Brothers to get government boat contracts and Krieg benefits from stimulus spending.

And as you so dramatically described the “Elephant in the room,” without the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station with its “massive payroll” Oak Harbor would be financially devastated. I am going to make copies of this and distribute them to friends and foes in Island County.
