Thomas “Tom” Poolet of Oak Harbor passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8 at the age of 60 after a short battle with cancer.

Tom was born to parents Charles “Patrick” and Shirley Poolet on July 16, 1956 in Albany, N.Y. Tom attended Moriah Central High School and later earned a degree in psychology.

Tom is survived by his son, Jeremy Poolet. He is also survived by his loving friend Laurie Laware; his step children Daniel Martin, Cassandra Woodcock and her husband Matthew Todd Martin II; and his wife Amber. Also, he is survived by his six step-grandchildren: Jennifer, Jacob, Tanner, Kaden, Savannah and Olivia, who always lovingly called him Papa Tom. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law LeeLee Martin-Conklin.

Tom had chosen to be cremated and his ashes will be spread at a later date on Lake Champlain, where he loved to go ice fishing. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com
