Rosalie Beers Nunn

Rosalie Beers Nunn went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 3; she was 90 years old.

A Washington native born in Yakima, she traveled extensively with her career Navy husband Ralph before settling in Oak Harbor in 1957.

In her 30 year career she worked as secretary, bookkeeper and financial officer for various local entities including the Officer’s Club and Island Construction.

For the past 60 years she served joyfully at the Oak Harbor Church of the Nazarene where she was honored last year with the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rosalie’s joy was her family — loving them, teaching them, praying for them. Every family member readily affirms; she’s the most loving person we know.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Nunn and brothers Jerry Beers and Leo Beers. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Chelsee Walden (Steve), Rick Nunn (Cheryl), Sally Mickley (Marv), and Diane Holmly (Dan). She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

The memorial will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Oak Harbor Church of the Nazarene. Gifts in remembrance of Rosalie can be sent to the Oak Harbor Church of the Nazarene, ohnaz.com, or to International Christian Response, an organization that aids suffering Christians worldwide, christianresponse.org
