Raymond Felix Camacho, Sr.: Oct. 18, 1956 – Sept. 5, 2019

Raymond Felix Camacho, Sr., of Oak Harbor, passed peacefully on Sept. 5, 2019, at the age of 62 after a brief battle with lung cancer.

Ray was born Oct. 18, 1956 in Agana, Guam. At a young age, the family moved to Whidbey Island, where Ray grew up and graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1974.

After high school, Ray joined and spent four years in the United States Coast Guard. He returned to Washington State after leaving the Coast Guard and worked primarily in construction.

Ray loved animals — his sister called him “the dog whisperer” — playing and watching sports, music, working on his Camaro, going to the casino and spending time outdoors.

Most of all, Ray loved his family.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Josefa Camacho.

He is survived by his son, Raymond F. Camacho, Jr.; daughter, Trinity Camacho (favorite kid); grandchildren, Dante, Felix, Tatum, and Alana; siblings, Terry Norris, Jeovanni Camacho, Elizabeth Morris, Bernie (favorite sibling), and Raymond Mafnas, Vince and Carmen Camacho, Michael Camacho, and Loren Camacho; nieces and nephews, Victor Sablan, Daniel Sablan, Maxine Tompkins, Kenneth Sablan, Jeovanni Camacho, Jr., Gregory Bowen, Joseph Morris, Jarina Rosi, Raymond F.C. and Melissa Mafnas, Kaleena and Adrian Garcia, Jared and Katie Mafnas, Elizabeth Boguth, DeAnn and Amanda Alcantara Thompson, Austin Camacho, Dakota Camacho; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
