Phyllis Jean (Morgan) Miller: April 13, 1939 – Aug. 31, 2018

Phyllis Jean (Morgan) Miller, 79 died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 in her daughter’s home in Warsaw, Mo. following a lengthy illness.

In hospice care for eight months prior to her death, she died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her children.

Phyllis was born in Osceola, Mo., April 13, 1939, to Clarence T. Morgan and (Nancy) Lucille (Taylor) Morgan. Her father was in the Army and she traveled around until finally settling down in Shawnee Mission, Kan.

She met and married her husband Robert Oscar Miller while he was stationed at Olathe, Kan. Naval Base on Nov. 16 1958.

While married she lived in several places, including the Philippines, until finally settling in Oak Harbor, where her husband retired from the Navy.

She was a stay-at-home mom and loved to do ceramics in her spare time. Later, she went to work on the Naval base and then managed Oak Harbor Mini Storage for several years before retiring.

She lived in Oak Harbor for 35 years but her heart was always in Missouri.

After her husband passed, she returned home to Osceola, Mo. to be closer to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert O. Miller and her granddaughter LaShanda B. Ferris (Rupe). She is survived by her son Donald Miller and wife Alex of Cheyenne Wyo.; her two daughters, Roberta “Bobbi” Miller (Drake) and her husband Tom of Warsaw, Mo.; and Nancy Miller (McKinney) of Oak Harbor; 10 grandchildren, Christopher and wife Kristi, Josiah and partner Alyson, Jacob, Jayme, Jasmine, DiAngelo, Anthony, Savannah and Rick; and three great-grandchildren, Noah, Emily and Briar.

She is also survived by one sister, Mae Morgan (Davis), of Osceola, Mo.; She was preceded in death by her brothers Larry Dean and Kevin Morgan. She has several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in the Missouri area.
