Michael Allen Schlosser, 65, of Arlington, Wash., passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at Skagit Valley Hospital. Born in Defiance, Ohio, to Robert and Lucille Schlosser, he lived most of his adult life in Oak Harbor and Arlington.

Michael is survived by his wife of 37 years Alicia Schlosser; daughter Heidi Bechtel; sons Art Canares, Dennis Canares, Limwel Canares and Michael Canares; sisters Mary Ann Reed, Sue Niemann and Barb Schlosser; brothers John Schlosser, Tom Schlosser and Ronnie Hiler; and many loving grandchildren, a great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Michael loved his country and he served in the Navy from March 1976 to March 2006, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. With his exemplary and honorable service, he was appointed by Congress to the highest enlisted rank of E9 master chief. Along with his devotion to his country he was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

Visitation and funeral services for Michael were held Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at Weller Funeral Home in Arlington, Wash.
