Margaret Miller: Feb. 27, 1920 – July 11, 2018

Margaret Miller, age 98, passed away July 11, 2018 in Bellingham.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1920 in Franklin, Wash., to Amandis and Mary (McKinnon) Brooks.

Margaret was an army wife who moved with her family around the United States and overseas to follow her husband Ken’s career.

She was a member of the United Church of Ferndale, Wash., P.E.O., and the Assistance League of Bellingham. Margaret enjoyed gardening and baking cakes and pecan pies. She was a strong and determined lady and successfully owned and operated Jenique, a children’s clothing store in Oak Harbor for many years.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth W. Miller, Sr., and her son Kenneth W. Miller, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Dawn (husband Doug) Seitz, grandchildren Kelli (Doug) Wise, Sandy Cable, Susan (Eric) O’Neill, Ken McMaster, Valerie (Brian) Silva and C.J. Seitz (Jeff Gregoire), six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, sisters Lucille Dougherty and Gwenyth McCluskey, brother Evan Brooks, and many loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery, 1961 W. Cemetery Road, Oak Harbor at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, followed by a celebration of Margaret’s life at Westford Funeral Home, 1301 Broad-way St., Bellingham, at 1 p.m. Reception following.
