Loretta Joyce Rodarmel, age 86, died Aug. 8 at Summer Hill assisted living facility, in Oak Harbor.

She was born to Fred and Sylvia DeGarlais on April 17, 1931, at Rapid City, S.D. Loretta married Leonard Owen Rodarmel on Dec. 9, 1949, at Fort Collins, Colo. They lived in several places including Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Guam and Alaska. They settled in Oak Harbor in 1958.

Loretta is survived by her four daughters, Marlene (Gerald) Pelham of Oak Harbor, Denise (Terry) Grabert of Lake Charles, La., Norma Roberts of Oak Harbor and Cathy (Michael) Johnson of Bellingham; grandchildren Cheryl Grabert Olivier, Jeri Pelham (Thomas) Taylor, Jennie Pelham (Mark) Brown, Michelle Grabert (David) Farque, Leonard Chad (Shannon) Roberts-Rodarmel, Jaclyn Johnson (Erick) De La Garza, Abby Johnson (Andrew) Rozeboom, Stuart (Tatiana) Johnson, Kyle Roberts, Sylvia Kelli Roberts (Michael) Kessler; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by two brothers, Levi and Roy DeGarlais, and sister, Mary Ann Powell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Norma Rae DeGarlais, son-in-law Neil Roberts and grandsons Marcus Johnson and Adam Roberts.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 25 at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene, Ore.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Summer Hill or Hospice of Whidbey Island, Wash.
