Jonathan Paul Diem: Feb. 26, 1972 – Jan. 23, 2017

Jonathan Paul Diem was our cherished son, brother and father. We want to remember Jon for all the love he spread during his all-too-short life.

Jon leaves behind his brothers David, Michael, and Robert; and his sisters Mary, Cathie, Nancy and Shawn; his father Charles; his aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews. Jon is also survived by his lovely and amazing daughter Lexie. Jon was born Feb. 26, 1972.

He was a natural at sports of all kinds, always pushing hard and leading by example. Possibly his greatest and most endearing quality was that he literally would give the shirt off his back.

He was so loving, caring and generous and was beloved by many. We are going to miss our son, brother and father beyond what can be put into words.

Jon’s passions include his love of nature, his love for animals and his profound love for his daughter, family, friends and God.

This world has lost an amazing young man.

We would like to invite all who had the privilege of knowing Jon to join us in honoring his life. The service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 at Saint Augustine’s Catholic Church in Oak Harbor, Wash.

This will be followed by a graveside burial in Coupeville at the Sunnyside cemetery, where Jon will be laid to rest next to Sara Diem, his mother, who preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boeing Employee Credit Union. A college fund is being set up for Jon’s daughter Lexi Diem: Bank of America Acct: Lexie Diem College fund; routing #: 125000024; account #: 138122330559.
