When one is so universally beloved and respected, words fail to fully capture the impact of that person’s passing. Jean Elaine Olsen Mamales, born Jan. 8, 1954, shed her mortal soul on the morning of Feb. 19, 2018 after a sudden and unexpected medical emergency.
Her sphere of business and personal relations crossed the entire nation. Jean was a respected lending professional who shared her expertise and charming personality on both coasts.
Developing lifelong relationships was the most fulfilling part of her working life. Jean’s ability to translate hard stuff to commonly understood terms was a gift many cherished. A clear reflection of her sharing nature extends to her commitment to organ donation, further sharing as much of herself with others clearly in need.
Beyond her professional life, Jean gave freely of her time and resources to the Stanwood and Camano communities, to include the YMCA, Rotary and the Stanwood Camano Community Center.
The only thing Jean enjoyed more than supporting her community was her love of golf. While she was no Nancy Lopez, her love of the game was no less.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Beatrice Olsen. She is survived by her husband Ray, daughters Jennifer and Michele with husband Erik and granddaughters Kaylee and Abigail; son Chris and his wife Tessa and granddaughter Zoë; identical twin sister Joan Olsen Waldron, her husband Steve, niece Kimberly Jean, with her husband Anthony, great-nephews Gabriel and Zachary; nephew Kyle, and his wife Mollie, great-nephews Wyatt and Max and great-niece Emilie; eldest sister Judith Olsen, her husband Phil, daughter Kelly and husband Mark, great-nephew Luca and great-niece Scout; niece Tiffany, husband Jeff, great-nephews Leopold and Abraham, and great-niece Beatrice; nephew Rob Pitt and partner Emma.
