James ‘Jim’ Lennon Boswell Sr.: Dec. 26 1926 – March 2, 2017

James “Jim” Lennon Boswell Sr. passed away in his home with family and friends by his side on March 2 in Oak Harbor, due to complications following his long battle with cancer shortly after his 90th birthday.

Jim was born on Dec. 26, 1926 in West Haven, Conn., to his parents, Harry and Dorothy Boswell.

He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II. He fought in the Invasion of Normandy, where they landed on Omaha Beach.

Jim married his lovely wife Laura Jensen Boswell on April 19, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nev. They moved to Oak Harbor from California on Oct. 9, 2003.

To his family and friends, Jim was an incredibly loving and caring man who was loyal to the end.

Jim loved animals. Spending time with his dog Katie Ann was one of his very favorite pastimes.

He had many hobbies such as wood working projects, designing beautiful things from glass, fishing and, most of all, his family and friends. Jim loved to ride motorcycles, and his Harley Davidson was his favorite.

Jim is survived by his wife Laura, sister Marianne Stern, his six children, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and Laura’s two children and three grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Donald Boswell and David Boswell.

Jim will have a private cremation with a celebration of life gathering at 2 p.m. on April 8 at the Robinson’s Funny Farm, 134 West Green Valley Road, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
