Ernest Youderian: Aug. 7, 1924 – Sept. 5, 2019

Ernest Youderian, 95, passed away on Sept. 5, 2019.

He was born Aug. 7, 1924 and started life as a young boy working on his parents’ farm just outside of Coupeville.

When WWII broke out he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was deployed to the Pacific Theatre where he served our country in the war effort.

As a civilian again, he decided to open his own successful auto repair business in Southern California where he, along with his dear wife, Barbara, began raising a family.

Upon his father’s death in 1967, he decided to return to Whidbey Island to help his mother manage 100-plus acres of farmland and also reopened his auto repair business.

Ernie spent his life as a husband and father intent on hard work and providing for his family. He enjoyed piloting his private plane and growing and harvesting many acres of alfalfa.

Ernest will be fondly remembered by family and friends as someone always willing to lend a hand and be there if needed. He leaves behind two sons, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
