Danetta Nadene Fowler: July 30, 1932 – Jan. 29, 2017

Danetta Nadene Fowler was born in Boulder, Colo., on July 30, 1932, to James and Nelle Jennings. She graduated in 1954 from Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and Gamma Alpha Chi.

She spent her lifetime working in the civil service at various locations nationwide, reaching GS-15 level. She and her husband, Vernon Fowler, moved to Oak Harbor in 1999 where she spent five years serving on the Sno-Isle Library Board of Trustees, ten years as president of Home Health Care and president of Friends of the Library.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Fowler, in July 2016; and her son, Theodore Hershall Fowler, in May of 2008.

She is survived by her children Guy Ronald Fowler, Bob Lucas and Sandra Turk; her grandchildren Lisa Marie Stiefer, Robert William Turk, Nicholas Robert Lucas and Kevin James Lucas; and her great-grandchildren Ariel Turk, Michael Stiefer, Tyler Stiefer and Kohyn Stiefer.

The service will be held at noon Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Burley Funeral Chapel. The family asks to please make a donation to cancer research in lieu of flowers.
