Cynthia ‘Cindy’ LuAnn Derting: April 9, 1962 – May 29, 2017

Cynthia “Cindy” LuAnn Derting, 54, of Oak Harbor passed away on Monday, May 29, in Everett, following a brief illness.

She was born on April 9, 1962, the daughter of Wayne and Emma (Lingscheit) in Pasco, Wash. Cindy did many activities in life. She volunteered her time by working with her church, Big Brothers &Big Sisters and schools.

She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Derting and her brother Dan Derting. Cindy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Paul and Danyell Derting of Clarksville, Tenn., and her grandson Ethan Derting.

She is also survived by her mother Emma Derting of Oak Harbor; sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Mel Larson of Anacortes; brother and sister-in-law David and Colleen Derting of Oak Harbor; sister-in-law Denise Derting of Mount Vernon; and one niece and five nephews.

Cindy will be sorely missed. A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Oak Harbor Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Oak Harbor. A graveside urn committal service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Fernhill Cemetery in Anacortes.
