Carole K. Hart: July 17, 1939 – April 15, 2018

Carole Kay Hart passed away on April 15, 2018 at her home in Coupeville.

Carole was the youngest of four children. She was born July 17, 1939 to Clement P. and Linda Cunningham in Irvington, Iowa. She attended school in McGregor, Iowa, Blue Earth, Minn. and St. Teresa College in Winona, Minn.

Carole and Ken met in 1958 and were married in October of 1960 at St. Augustine’s Church in Austin, Minn. In 1960, Ken returned to active duty with the Navy, which led to many moves with the last to Whidbey Island in 1975 and becoming a part of this great community. She immediately became involved in her church, the children’s school and other community activities making many lasting friendships.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Kenneth Hart, Scott (Joann) Hart, grandchildren Erin Hart and Sondra Spencer of Everett; Julie (Chris) Ceci, grandchildren Allison Elvebak and Anthony Ceci of Oak Harbor; John (Betsy) Hart, grandchildren Jason Hart and Gillian Hart of Poulsbo. In addition, there is one great grandchild on the way. They are and were the joy of her life.

Also surviving Carole is her sister Donna Wagnar of Minneapolis, Minn. sister Shirley Lubitz of Columbia, S.C.; along with many nieces and nephews around the country.

She was preceded in death by her father Clement, mother Linda and brother Charles.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 207 N. Main, Coupeville, WA 98239 with Rev. Paul Pluth, J.C.L. officiating and a reception after at St. Marys Parish Hall. Rite of Committal will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery.
