Baker

Brian Baker, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother and friend passed away surrounded by loved ones at the age of 61 while visiting family in Livermore, Calif., Thursday, March 1 after a sudden battle with cancer.

Brian is survived by his five children: Jill Magana (Ramon), Laura Finley (Pat), Gary Baker (Jen), Candice Bigwood (Will), and Brennan Baker; his 14 grandchildren; his mother Stella Beck; brothers Paul-Mark Baker, Glenn Baker and Jim Baker; his sisters Mimi Alford, Audrey Faulkner and Kathy Keller; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father Jim Baker, step-father John Beck, uncle Emil Steinberger, sister-in-law Connie Baker, nephew Jonathan Baker and granddaughter Brielle Baker.

Brian was born on Jan. 22, 1958 in Peekskill, N.Y. He grew up and attended school in the Livermore Valley. He worked at Livermore Lawrence National Laboratory for 15 years and then moved to Oak Harbor to start his own All Faith Carpet and Upholstery Care business. Brian was a man of God who loved the Lord and used his business as his ministry. Brian was a man of honor and integrity who was known for his keen sense of humor and compassion for his fellow man. Brian loved being outdoors and seized every opportunity to take his family members and friends fishing and boating as often as possible.

He could always be found driving his dog Bubby in a backpack, on his motorcycle for a ride down to the beach or into town to run errands.

He loved playing golf with his sons, brothers, nephew and friends. But most of all, Brian lived his life as a servant to his Lord and Savior!

Brian’s precious time on earth was greatly cherished by all who were lucky enough to know and love him. He will continue to live in our hearts as he looks down on us from heaven.

Friends and family are invited to a funeral service 12 p.m. Friday, March 8 at Callaghan Mortuary, 3833 East Ave., Livermore. Burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery, 1240 N. Liver-more.
