Bob A. Prather

Bob A. Prather, 61, passed away at home in Chewelah on Oct. 19, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sherri Prather; his faithful dog Lacey; son Randy Prather Cantrell of Bellingham; stepsons Will Lake of Mount Vernon and Jon Lake of Burlington; grandsons Micah and Mason Newman; mother Ruth L’Heureux of Zillah; father and second mother Larray and Ruby Prather of Selah; brother Rick and wife Sandi Prather of Zillah; niece Kami and fiancé Jeremy and grandniece Kenzi of Yakima.

Bob graduated from Selah High in 1973. He served in the Air Force for 6 years, then attended college at Central. He was employed by the Oak Harbor School District for 30 years, teaching mainly Science at both Oak Harbor High School and Oak Harbor Middle School.

He was a dedicated teacher, mentor and coach of track, wrestling and girls volleyball. He was very active in sports and received many awards and was a top masters track athlete.

In his retirement he enjoyed working on his property. He was a very talented and creative woodworker making items from natural resources off the property.
