Editor,

More history, please.

Tuesday’s outstanding historic tour of Coupeville led by Paul Whelan was very well attended.

The hour-and-a-half, mile-long walk around town entertained and informed us all.

I especially appreciated the list of more than a dozen “teasers” that we were given prior to the walk, each of which was embellished upon at appropriate points along the way.

Whelan’s relaxed and informative talk made for a most enjoyable history lesson about our town. A few of his own personal stories of paper routes and bottle-collecting were such fun to hear “straight from the horse’s mouth.”

Thanks to the Island County Historical Society and to Paul for this delightful event.

We live in a community of such rich history.

Let’s keep those stories alive by doing more events such as this, please.
