Town of Coupeville opens lot to parking

The Town of Coupeville is implementing three parking changes.

The grass lot north of Town Hall is now open for parking for downtown Coupeville employees.

The area where employees can park in the town green next to the municipal parking lot is changing and will be defined by temporary fencing next week.

There will be room for at least 19 cars.

“We are making this change for two reasons; to keep more of an area clear for the farmers market and to stop visitors from parking cars and RVs all over the green during the week,” Coupeville Mayor Molly Hughes said in a release.

“We need to try and keep this area looking controlled as much as possible for the residents who live around it.”

The third change is at the right-of-way on Alexander Street, across the street from the Coupeville Chamber of Commerce. Previously relaxed “no parking” rules will be enforced by the town.
