Olympic League 2A tennis power North Kitsap defeated Coupeville 6-1 in a non-league match Friday, Sept. 23, in Poulsbo.

The Vikings, coached by Oak Harbor High School graduate Jay DeVries, raised their record to 9-0.

Coupeville fell to 1-6, but the one win was in the Wolves’ only conference match. After Coupeville plays North Mason (1-6) in a non-counter home match at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, it plays four consecutive league contests.

In the match with North Kitsap, Coupeville earned its point when Jimmy Myers, who had been playing doubles, won in second singles 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Other Coupeville results:

Singles: 1, Nick Etzell lost 6-2, 6-0; 3, Grey Rische lost 7-6(7-2), 6-4.

Doubles: 1, Joseph Wedekind/John McClarin lost 6-2, 6-4; 2, William Nelson/Joey Lippo lost 6-2, 7-5; 3, Nile Lockwood/Mason Grove lost 6-0, 6-2; 4, Aiden Crimmins/Jakobi Baumann lost 7-5, 6-4.
