First baby of 2014 born at Whidbey General

Brian and Kathryn Wilson were hoping their son would be born on their five-year wedding anniversary. But their son was a bit late. The first baby of the New Year, Cole Alan Wilson was born at 1:03 p.m., Jan. 1 at the Whidbey General Hospital Family Birthplace. He weighed 9 pounds and was 20 inches in length.

The first baby of the New Year, Cole Alan Wilson was born at 1:03 p.m., Jan. 1 at the Whidbey General Hospital Family Birthplace. He weighed 9 pounds and was 20 inches in length.

The Wilson’s celebrated their five-year anniversary Dec. 30, two days before their son was born. He was originally due Dec. 22.

“We were hoping he would come on our anniversary,” Kathryn said.

Cole is the first child for Brian and Kathryn. Brian is emplolyed as a crypto-technician Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.

Naval Hospital Oak Harbor said it’s first baby of the New Year was born Jan. 2.

Elijah Jamir Smothers was born at 9:07 a.m. Thursday. He was 7 pounds 6 ounces and 19.7 inches long. He is the son of Master-at-Arms Seaman Recruit Marshella Smothers, who is from Memphis, Tenn.

Smothers is stationed at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Security Department. Elijah’s father is Fredarrian Robinson, of El Dorado, Ariz.
