Coupeville High School’s Christine Fields sits in fifth place after the first round of the state 1A girls golf tournament at the Spanaway Lake Golf Course Wednesday, May 28.

Fields carded an 84. Bree Wandersheid of Goldendale is in first with a 76.

Fields, a junior, placed eighth in state as a freshman and 15th last spring.

The second and final round of this year’s state tournament is Thursday, May 29.
