Ferry terminal work to cancel Coupeville runs

With work slated on terminal, no ferries Nov. 5-6 on the Coupeville-to-Port Townsend route

There will be no ferry service available on the Coupeville-to-Port Townsend ferry route Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6, according to Washington State Ferries.

The Coupeville Terminal will be undergoing work to better prepare it for an earthquake.

Workers will temporarily dismantle and seismically reinforce columns that raise and lower the car bridge, according to the press release.

The project is expected to take two days to complete.

Sailings are slated to resume at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, but reservations are not being accepted on Monday “in the event that unplanned delays require work to extend past Sunday night,” the press release said.
