Closing out the regular season, the Coupeville High School tennis team lost a 5-2 non-league match at South Whidbey Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The match was originally scheduled for Monday but was rained out.

Rain caused another postponement. The Olympic League 1A Tournament set for Thursday was rescheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Chimacum because of wet weather.

Winners for the Wolves at South Whidbey were Nick Etzell in second singles (6-3, 6-0) and Mason Grove in fourth singles (opponent retired).

Coupeville, which won its second consecutive conference title with a 4-0 record, finished the season with a 5-8 mark.

Other results Tuesday:

Singles: 1, Joey Lippo lost 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(7-2); 3, Jakobi Baumann lost 6-3, 6-0.

Doubles: 1, John McClarin/Joseph Wedekind lost 7-5, 6-2; 2, Greg Rische/Jimmy Myers lost 6-2, 6-2; 3, Aiden Crimmins/Tiger Johnson lost 6-0, 6-1.
