County primary voting follows state’s results

Island County Democrats’ and Republicans’ votes in Tuesday’s presidential primary were pretty similar to statewide results.

Democratic voters were more active than Republicans in the election, even though the results were meaningless when it comes to delegates in the Democratic Party. In Island County, 12,308 Democrats and 10,582 Republicans voted.

In the state, 769,000 Democrats participated in the election, as compared to 574,000 Republicans.
