Car rolls, driver injured

A 59-year-old Oak Harbor woman who was in a rollover accident at Sharpes Corner Feb. 24 was arrested for suspicion of DUI, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Trooper Tim Yzaguirre said Sandra Williams was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus northbound on Highway 20, approaching the Sharpes Corner intersection in Skagit County.

According to the trooper, the car veered onto the northbound shoulder, hit an embankment and flipped onto its roof. The Ford slid across the northbound lane and came to a rest in the center turn lane.

Williams suffered facial lacerations and possibly other injuries, Yzaguirre said. She was transported to Island Hospital in Anacortes, where she was treated and admitted.

Yzaguirre said he arrested Williams for driving under the influence. Specifically, he said she was under the influence of prescription drugs.
