Atienza promoted to rank of captain in U.S. Air Force

JOEL S. ATIENZA has been selected for promotion to the rank of captain in the Air Force.

Atienza is the son of Elizabeth S. and Casiano A. Atienza of Oak Harbor and brother of Casiano S. Atienza of Seattle, Elica S. Atienza of Oak Harbor, and Elsian S. Atienza of Oak Harbor.

Atienza is currently serving as project officer with MILSATCOM Military Satellite Communication, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif. He has served in the military for three years.

He is a 2010 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2014 from the University of Washington.
