Oak Harbor Police Sgt. Jerry Baker talks with Barbara Asseln, 46, while she sits in her black 2003 Toyota Four-Runner. Asseln apparently ran a red light while heading south on Highway 20 at the intersection with Goldie Road, hitting Gene Whitley's white 1976 Corvette that he purchased while in high school, according to police. Whitley, 52, was on his way to play a round of golf, he said. Luckily, he had his seatbelt on. 'It caught me pretty good,' he said. The fender-bender occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Friday morning causing minor traffic delays at the busy highway intersection. Neither driver was injured.
