How much federal stimulus money is being spent on Whidbey Island and the region?

U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen, a Democrat, will be at the Oak Harbor Senior Center from 10:30 a.m. until noon for a “town talk.” The center is located at 51 SE Jerome St.

Larsen will give an update on how the economic recover dollars are going to work in the state. He will also discuss President Barack Obama’s plans on addressing the housing crisis, economic recovery and the nation’s priorities.

“I hope you will join me and your Oak Harbor neighbors for a discussion about the challenges we face in Island County and across the country and what we can do to overcome them,” Larsen wrote in an email. “I want to hear your thoughts and answer your questions.”
