An April 11 article about the Libbey House incorrectly stated who built the historic home. It was built by John Alexander Jr., not the Libbey family.

An April 11 story about Island County commissioners hiring Jeff Tate as a consultant neglected to state that Commissioner Angie Homola voted against the contract, which the other two commissioners passed. She said she felt it was inappropriate to pay the former planning director $125 an hour at a time when the county is facing large budget cuts and possible layoffs. The News-Times regrets the oversight.
