One lane of Highway 20 is closed due to a traffic accident on the Deception Pass Bridge.

A Hyundai Santa Fe was north on Highway 20 late Monday morning when the vehicle collided with the cable barrier between the roadway and careened into a GMC Yukon that was southbound on Highway 20, said Trooper Norm Larson with the Washington State Patrol. Nobody was injured.

The accident, which occurred during a brief snowstorm on Whidbey Island, blocked one lane of Highway 20 on Pass Island.

By 12:15 p.m. the backup on the Whidbey Island side of Highway 20 stretched to Lam's Links.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating Monday's accident.
