Man walks dog, yells obscenities | Island Scanner

The following items were selected from reports made to the Island County Sheriff’s Office:

Saturday, May 24

At 1:02 p.m., a caller on Forest Glen Road inquired about laws regarding growing and burning off excess marijuana.

At 3 p.m., a caller on Timberline Road reported that he is having a mental breakdown. He said Obama is going to kill his family.

At 9:38 p.m., a caller reported that a resident of Bonito Way is walking his dog with a small child and yelling obscenities. The man screamed at neighbors that if “they don’t stay on their side of the road they will die.”

Sunday, May 25

At 4:51 a.m., a state emergency manager reported a 3.12-magnitude earthquake near Coupeville 20 minutes prior.

At 1:58 p.m., a man reported finding a used condom under his truck on Buckthorn Road. He said he picked it up with a toothpick and placed it in a baggy.

At 6:48 p.m., a caller reported that people were carrying a rifle and a bow and arrow around a parking lot on Penn Cove Road. The subjects were all wearing black.

At 7 p.m., a caller reported that a bald eagle was flying in front of cars on Swantown Road. The caller said the eagle was trying to eat a dead cat.

At 11:11 p.m., a Barr Beach Road resident reported that her neighbor was watching her through night-vision goggles.

Monday, May 26

At 6:54 p.m., a Fircrest Avenue resident reported that a neighbor came to his door with a “manifesto” about other people in the neighborhood.

Tuesday, May 27

At 12:06 p.m., a caller reported that a man was sitting in a chair in the front yard of a Holmes View Drive home and yelling about the end of the world. He had a pit bull staked in the yard next to him.

At 12:12 p.m., a Lake Drive resident reported that her middle-aged neighbor had been exposing herself to her and “flipping her off.”

At 2:10 p.m., a man reported that his daughter was sexually assaulted on a school bus.

At 3:37 p.m., a caller reported that two men were carrying bags and a rifle on West Beach Road.

Wednesday, May 28

At 5:59 p.m., a caller reported seeing a kite surfer go down at the mouth of Penn Cove.

At 6 p.m., a caller reported that a man was busting out the windows of a bus shelter with a sledge hammer on State Highway 20 at Banta Road.

 

Thursday, May 29

At 12:49 a.m., there was a report about a man in a ski mask and hoodie hitchhiking on State Highway 20 near Monroe Landing Road.

At 10:17 a.m., there was a third-hand report that a man claims that local law enforcement was involved in thefts, the killing of cats and words written in blood on walls.

 

Friday, May 30

At 12:29 p.m., a Scenic Avenue resident reported finding a rifle in a red bag on her property.

 

Saturday, May 31

At 4:33 a.m., a caller reported that a person in a sheet was standing on Deception Pass Bridge.

 

Sunday, June 1

At 10:11 a.m., a woman reported that her dog fell 100 feet down a bluff on West Beach Road.

At 2:11 p.m., an open-line call was received from State Highway 525. A man could be heard saying “I just don’t like you” and something about “locking you up.”

At 8:03 p.m., a caller reported that a cell phone was found on Whidbey Drive that contained “disturbing” texts about kidnapping and abuse.

At 9:15 p.m., a caller reported that a man took his clothes off at Bayview Park and Ride.
