Whidbey General earns award

Whidbey General Hospital’s Home Healthcare Department earned a 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award by Press Ganey Associates, Inc. The award recognizes top-performing facilities that achieve the 95th percentile of performance in patient satisfaction, employee engagement, physician engagement or clinical quality, according to a press release.

Fewer that 5 percent of Press Ganey clients reach this threshold. Press Ganey partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities, which includes half of the hospitals in the United States, to measure and improve patient experiences.

“Individuals who require treatment in the home are among our most vulnerable patients,” Whidbey General Hospital CEO Tom Tomasino said in the release. “It is important they receive the highest care possible.”
