A minor earthquake, magnitude 3.4, occurred at 5:55 p.m. Friday. The temblor originated seven miles southwest of Friday Harbor and was about 16 miles deep, according to the University of Washington Geophysics Program.

The island’s 911 emergency dispatch center, I-COM, received about a dozen calls from people simply reporting that there was an earthquake. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

Anyone who felt the little quake can report it at www.ess
