A 36-year-old Mukilteo resident was killed when a motorcycle and car collided in the intersection of Highway 20 and Arnold Road Saturday afternoon.

According to the State Patrol, 18-year-old Cody Wood of Coupeville was driving a 1993 Chevrolet Corsica eastbound on Arnold Road.

Andrew Olsen, 36, of Mukilteo was driving a 1989 Kawasaki EX250 motorcycle southbound on Highway 20. Cindy Olsen, also a 36-year-old Mukilteo resident, was a passenger on the motorcycle.

The motorcycle and car collided in the intersection of the highway and Arnold Road. The accident was reported at 5:30 p.m.

Andrew Olsen died at the scene. Cindy Olsen was transported to Whidbey General Hospital and then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. She was in serious condition Tuesday afternoon. She suffered a fractured right arm, a fractured pelvis, chest injuries and a head laceration.

Wood was not injured. The car sustained an estimated $750 in damages and was driven from the scene.

Both of the Olsens were wearing helmets and Wood was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
