"The body of one of two Oak Harbor men who disappeared nearly five years ago while fishing on Lake Shannon in Skagit County was recently discovered.Chief Deputy Harry Hemphill with the Skagit County Sheriff's Department said a boater discovered the skeletal remains in the reservoir's muddy bed Monday. The body was identified as Duane Schwolow by the clothing and identification found with the remains.Schwolow and Joe Kalous were lost in a presumed boating accident on the reservoir in April of 1996. Hemphill said the two men went to the area just south of Mount Baker to camp and fish. They disappeared during a storm while they were out on the lake. Both men were 24 years old.According to Hemphill, the current drought conditions made the recovery of the body possible. He said the lake is at its lowest level since 1951 because of the lack of melting snow.Schwolow's friends and families are holding a memorial for him this Sunday at Cornet Bay Marina. Retired Navy Chaplain Hal Bodle will open the service at 1 p.m. "
