Full slate scheduled for candidate forum

"Who gets your vote in November? Before you give your final answer and drop it in the ballot box, the League of Women Voters is giving you a chance to meet the local candidates face-to-face.A Candidate Forum will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Oak Harbor Senior Center. Island County Commissioner District 1 candidates Mike Shelton and William Rowlands and District 2 candidates Mac McDowell and Lynne Wilcox will be there, as will District 10 House opponents Rep. Dave Anderson, D-Clinton. and Oak Harbor Republican Barry Sehlin; and Rep. Kelly Barlean, R-Langley. and John McCoy, a Marysville Democrat. State Senate candidates Mary Margaret Haugen, D-Camano Island. and Norma Smith, a Clinton Republican, will complete the roster of those attending.The candidates will speak and answer questions. Refreshments will be served. The event is co-hosted by the League of Women Voters, the American Association of University Women and the Senior Center. A forum on the state ballot measures will be held at a later date. For more information, call 675-5464. "
