"The State Patrol is looking for anyone who may know anything about a hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle on Highway 20 near Troxell Road Wednesday night.Trooper Mark Brown said he's looking for a car and driver that left the scene of the accident. The car is described as a white, boxy, 1980s-type Mustang or possibly a Mercury Capris.According to the Brown, the accident was reported at 8:10 p.m. He said 19-year-old Matthew Chaney of Oak Harbor was driving a 1999 Suzuki motorcycle on the highway. Chaney passed two cars and then pulled into traffic behind the unidentified Mustang-type car. The driver of the car braked extremely hard, Brown said, and Chaney was unable to stop in time. The motorcycle rear-ended the car. Chaney was ejected and suffered serious abrasions on both legs from sliding on the pavement. He was transported to the Whidbey General Hospital. The driver of the car left the scene without stopping.Brown said the car he is looking for may have a black rubber tire mark or a red paint transfer on its rear bumper.Anyone with any information can contact Brown at 675-0710.
