Spring flurry closes Coupeville Elementary, South Whidbey Schools
March 22, 2013 · Updated 10:24 AM
A spring flurry this morning prompted school officials to close Coupeville Elementary School and preschool. Officials had originally delayed buses by 30 minutes and put routes in the southern part of the district on snow routes.
As conditions worsened this morning, officials decided to cancel classes at the elementary school.
Because students are already at Coupeville Middle School and High School, students will attend classes. The secondary school is on a scheduled half-day Friday and students will be dismissed at 11 a.m. Schools on South Whidbey are closed Friday and the Oak Harbor School District isn't reporting any changes to its schedule, according to schoolreport.org
