After 12 years of reading, writing, arithmetic and much more, seniors in Oak Harbor and Coupeville are almost done with school.
Coupeville High School and Oak Harbor High School are holding their respective graduations in the next week.
On Friday, June 9, 79 students will graduate from Coupeville High School in a ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. There are six students who will graduate with a perfect, 4.0 grade point average. Those students are Michael Bagby, Ben Brown, Tyler Harvey, Micah Johnson, Rebecca Olson and Brendan Roof.
Seniors earned more than $1 million in scholarships, which is up drastically from $325,000 from the previous years class.
Because of construction of the new high school, parking for the ceremony is limited.
Then, on Monday, June 12, 340 students will graduate from Oak Harbor High School in a ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium. There are two students graduating with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and 61 students earned at least a 3.5 grade point average. The students with a perfect grade point average are Danica Humphries and Jacque Leach.
