Knife used in assault

A 24-year-old Greenbank man is facing a felony assault charge in connection with a knife threat, according to court documents.

Prosecutors charged Nathan Christy in Island County Superior Court June 25 with assault in the second degree and assault in the fourth, domestic violence. On June 22, Judge Alan Hancock set Christy’s bail at $10,000.

Christy pleaded not guilty July 9.

A deputy’s report states that Christy allegedly pulled a knife on another man in Clinton June 21. Witnesses said Christy walked up to the man — who was a stranger to him — accused him of following him, placed a knife on his chest and threatened to cut his throat.

It was also reported that Christy assaulted his girlfriend and pulled the knife on her, but she denied it, court documents state.
