November 9, 2012 · Updated 2:42 PM

Residents will have a chance to get involved in promoting a replacement levy benefiting the Oak Harbor School District.

Citizens for Better Schools is holding a levy campaign kickoff rally at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at North Whidbey Middle School, 67 NE Izett St. in Oak Harbor. The two-hour event will feature live music, provide a chance for people to get involved with the campaign and pick up signs.

Voters will decide Feb. 12, 2013 whether to approve a four-year levy that will raise millions of dollars to pay for teaching positions, textbooks and computers and help restore staff and programs that have been eliminated through state funding reductions in recent years.
