Go easy on the water in Oak Harbor Wednesday

May 25, 2012 · Updated 3:08 PM

The Anacortes Water Treatment Plant has scheduled a second complete shutdown of the drinking water treatment plant and the supply of water to the city of Oak Harbor’s transmission system on Wednesday, May 30, from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shutdown is necessary in order to connect the existing finished water line to the new treatment plant.

The city of Oak Harbor receives water from the Anacortes water treatment plant. The Oak Harbor Water Division will be prepared for this shutdown with all reservoirs filled and standby wells ready, if needed. Oak Harbor water customers should not experience any interruption of water service.  However, due to the length of the shut down, customers are encouraged to conserve water, according to a news release from the city.

If you have any questions, please contact the city of Oak Harbor at 279-4500.
